Pink Floral Offering in Recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month
The lives of a number of my family and friends have been touched by breast cancer. Scarcely anyone these days can go through life not knowing someone close who has had it, or without having it yourself. Until the disease, which claims too many victims before their time, is completely curable, constant reminders, such as this month of October, intended to heighten awareness of the disease, its detection, prevention, treatment, and research leading to new and better treatments for it, are in order.
This comes with a special shout out to Tina (Indigostudios), Maryann (fotomom), and Mary (mcdonegal1), and others in the smugmug community who have had, or still have this disease, with wishes for success in battling it.

A note about how I put this together. I did a legal download of an unprotected jpeg image of the traditional pink cancer ribbon, which I used as the template for the flowers I added to it. Each bloom was 'cut' from a photograph I took earlier in the year. They were all naturally pink - no color shifts. I resized each bloom before 'pasting' it into its own layer in the composite. Some rotation of individual blooms was done to get a better fit to the ribbon outline in a few cases.
