Henry J. Allen house designed by Frank Lloy Wright in 1915 in Wichita, KS. Allen was a journalist and later governor of KS. Wright considered this "one of my best" was the last of the Prairie Houses. Carthage marble "water table" (lower base of the house), clay tile roof with a unique ridge, hip ridge and employed a Japanese flavor. Wright was building the Imperial Hotel in Japan at the same time. You can see the front door under the portico. He liked to "hide" the front door so as not to interrupt the line of the front of the house.
