Established in 1851 it is the oldest operating cemetery in Saint Joseph, MO. and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It is known for its fine tomb architecture. "Mausoleum Row" represents some of the economic and social elite of this city. Three MO. governors, M. Jeff Thompson, "The Swamp Fox" of the Confederacy, two Pony Express riders and two of Quantrill's Raiders are among the famous buried here.
