The Maehl obelisk was a very unusual stone, for me, not ever seeing one with a clinging palm tree like this. A leaning tree trunk symbolizes a short interrupted life, and mourning which this looks like. There is ivy around the stone also, indicating fidelity, attachment, undying affection and eternal life.
